Section 01
Who We Are & What We Sell
FlowWells is an independently owned direct-to-consumer e-commerce wellness brand headquartered at 1051 148th St W, APT 208, Rosemount, MN 55068, United States. We operate exclusively at flowwells.com via the Shopify platform and ship only within the United States of America.
FlowWells currently sells one product: the FlowWells Full Body Massage Mat with Heat — a consumer-grade personal wellness device designed for at-home relaxation, general muscle comfort, and everyday tension relief. The product incorporates vibration massage motors across multiple body zones and an optional heat function, and is designed for use on a bed, sofa, floor, or chair by healthy adults.
Our business mission is to help people build small daily wellness rituals — the kind that compound over time into meaningful improvements in comfort, rest, and quality of life. We are a wellness brand. We are not a healthcare company, medical device manufacturer, pharmacy, or licensed healthcare practice of any kind.
Scope of This Disclaimer: This Medical Disclaimer applies to all products sold now and in the future on flowwells.com, all content published on the FlowWells website, and all communications made by FlowWells in any medium. It should be read together with our General Disclaimer, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy.

No information provided by FlowWells, in any format or channel, should be used as a basis for making medical decisions. Specifically, no FlowWells content should be used to:
If you have a specific health concern, pain condition, injury, or medical question, consult a licensed physician or qualified healthcare professional. Do not rely on any wellness product, website, or non-clinical resource as a substitute for professional medical care.
Section 03
Product Classification & FDA Status
Understanding how our product is classified under US federal law is important to us and to you. Here is a transparent breakdown of the regulatory status of the FlowWells Full Body Massage Mat with Heat:
The FlowWells Full Body Massage Mat with Heat has not been submitted to, evaluated by, or cleared by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for any therapeutic or medical purpose. No claim made on this website is intended to invoke FDA jurisdiction or suggest that this product has undergone any FDA regulatory review process.
Under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act, 21 U.S.C. § 321(h)), a "medical device" is an instrument, apparatus, or similar article intended to affect the structure or function of the body for therapeutic, diagnostic, or preventive purposes. Our massage mat does not carry, and is not sold with, any such intended purpose.
Consumer Product Safety: FlowWells operates in compliance with the Consumer Product Safety Act (CPSA, 15 U.S.C. § 2051 et seq.), overseen by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). If you experience a product safety concern or incident, you may report it directly to the CPSC at saferproducts.gov in addition to notifying us at support@flowwells.com.
Section 04
No Doctor–Patient Relationship
No interaction with FlowWells — whether through our website, email, live chat, social media, or any other communication channel — creates a doctor–patient relationship, a therapist–client relationship, or any other professional healthcare relationship of any kind.
FlowWells is an e-commerce company. Our customer support team members are retail support specialists — they are not licensed physicians, registered nurses, physical therapists, chiropractors, occupational therapists, certified massage therapists, or any other type of licensed or certified healthcare provider. Any information our team provides about product use is general consumer guidance, not professional healthcare advice tailored to your individual health situation.
Section 05
Intended Use of Our Products
The FlowWells Full Body Massage Mat with Heat is designed and sold exclusively for the following general wellness and personal comfort purposes, intended for use by healthy adults in a home environment:
Not Intended For: This product is not intended for use as a substitute for physical therapy, chiropractic treatment, clinical massage therapy, or any other professional healthcare service. It is not designed to treat, manage, or rehabilitate any diagnosed injury, chronic pain condition, disability, or medical illness.
Section 06 — Please Read Carefully
Who Should Consult a Doctor Before Use
We strongly and sincerely urge you to consult a licensed physician or qualified healthcare provider before using any FlowWells product if any of the following conditions or circumstances apply to you. This list is not exhaustive — when in doubt, always check with your doctor first.
When In Doubt: If your health situation is not listed above but you are uncertain whether this product is safe for you, please consult your physician before purchase or first use. Your safety is more important to us than any sale.
Section 07
Contraindications & Safety Warnings
The following are absolute contraindications — situations in which the FlowWells Full Body Massage Mat with Heat should not be used under any circumstances without express written clearance from a licensed physician:
General Safety Rules — Always Follow These
Section 08
Heat Therapy Specific Warnings
The heat function of the FlowWells Full Body Massage Mat provides gentle comfort warmth — it is not the same as clinical therapeutic heat treatment (thermotherapy) administered by a licensed healthcare professional. The following specific cautions apply to use of the heat feature:
Individuals with reduced sensitivity to heat — including those with diabetes-related neuropathy, spinal cord injuries, or any condition reducing skin sensation — face a higher risk of burn injury without awareness. These individuals should not use the heat function without medical clearance.
Heat should not be applied to acutely injured areas (within 48–72 hours of injury), areas with active inflammation, swelling, or bruising. Applying heat to such areas may worsen tissue injury. Consult a physician or physical therapist before using heat on any recently injured area.
Never use the heat function while sleeping or while there is any risk of falling asleep. Extended heat exposure without awareness of sensation can cause thermal burns even at relatively low heat settings. The device's auto-shutoff is a safety feature — do not attempt to disable it.
Excessive heat to the abdomen, lower back, or pelvic region is generally contraindicated during pregnancy. Pregnant individuals should not use the heat function of this device without explicit clearance from their OB-GYN or midwife.
Note on Heat Intensity: The heat produced by this device is designed for gentle comfort warmth, not high-intensity therapeutic heat. Nevertheless, individual sensitivity varies. If the heat feels uncomfortably warm at any point, turn it off immediately. Never place additional insulating materials (blankets, clothing) between the heat pads and your skin to intensify the heat.
Section 09
Vibration Therapy Specific Warnings
The vibration motors in the FlowWells massage mat deliver mechanical vibration to targeted body zones. While vibration massage is generally well-tolerated by healthy adults, the following groups and conditions warrant special caution:
If you experience tingling, numbness, increased pain, disorientation, nausea, or any unusual sensation during use of the vibration function, stop the device immediately and consult a healthcare professional before resuming use.
Section 10
Individual Results Disclaimer
Every person's body is different. The way any wellness product feels, functions, and provides comfort varies significantly from one individual to another based on a wide range of personal factors. FlowWells makes no guarantee, express or implied, that you will experience any specific result or outcome from using our products.
Individual outcomes are influenced by factors including but not limited to:
Customer testimonials and reviews on our website reflect the genuine, voluntary experiences of real individual customers. They are not fabricated, paid-for, or edited by FlowWells. However, these individual experiences do not represent a typical outcome and are not a guarantee that you will experience the same results. In accordance with FTC guidelines (16 C.F.R. Part 255), where depicted results are not typical, we make clear that individual results vary.
Section 11
Wellness Claims & FTC Compliance
FlowWells is committed to truthful, substantiated, and non-misleading advertising in full compliance with the Federal Trade Commission Act (15 U.S.C. § 45) and all associated FTC guidelines, including the FTC's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 C.F.R. Part 255) and the FTC's guidance on health-related claims.
When we use wellness-oriented language in our product descriptions and marketing, here is what that language means and does not mean:
FlowWells does not make, and has never made, any claim that our products can diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or mitigate any disease or medical condition. Any marketing language is descriptive of the product's intended consumer experience and general design purpose, not a guaranteed therapeutic claim.
Section 12
No Substitute for Professional Medical Care
FlowWells products are not a substitute for professional medical care, diagnosis, or treatment — and we never want them to be used that way. If you are experiencing pain, discomfort, injury, illness, or any health symptom that concerns you, please seek care from a licensed healthcare professional promptly. Do not delay, avoid, or deprioritize medical attention in favor of using any wellness device.
This is especially important for:
FlowWells products work best as a complement to — not a replacement for — a healthy lifestyle that includes appropriate medical care, regular physical activity, proper nutrition, and adequate rest.
Section 13
Emergency Situations
🚨 If you are experiencing a medical emergency, stop using the device immediately and call 911 or your local emergency number.
FlowWells is an online retailer. We are not equipped to provide emergency medical assistance. Contact information below is for product support questions only.
If you experience any of the following during or after use of a FlowWells product, stop using the device immediately and seek emergency medical care:
Section 14
Safe Use Guidelines
For the safest and most effective experience with your FlowWells massage mat, we recommend following these guidelines every time you use the device:
Limit each session to a maximum of 30 minutes. Use the auto-timer function. Allow your body time to rest between sessions. First-time users should start with shorter sessions (10–15 minutes) at low intensity to gauge their individual response.
Read the complete user guide and all safety warnings included with your product before first use. Understand all controls, settings, and the auto-shutoff function before turning the device on for the first time.
Always begin at the lowest vibration and heat setting, especially on first use. Increase intensity gradually based on your comfort level. Never force a higher setting if the lower one already causes discomfort.
Always remain awake and alert while using the device. Never use while driving, operating machinery, or in any situation where a sudden distraction could be hazardous. Turn the device off before you fall asleep.
Before each use, visually inspect the power cord, connectors, and device surface for any signs of damage, fraying, or wear. Do not use the device if any damage is detected. Contact us at support@flowwells.com for assistance.
You may use the device over light clothing. Do not use directly on bare skin with the heat setting at high levels for extended periods. Never apply lotions, oils, or creams directly to the device surface, as these may degrade the material and create a safety hazard.
Section 15
CPSC & Product Safety Compliance
FlowWells is committed to full compliance with all applicable US consumer product safety laws and regulations. Our products are sold as consumer goods subject to the jurisdiction of the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) under the Consumer Product Safety Act (CPSA, 15 U.S.C. § 2051 et seq.).
If you experience any product safety incident, adverse event, or injury related to a FlowWells product, please notify us immediately at support@flowwells.com. Your report helps us protect other customers and maintain product quality.
Section 16
State-Specific Health & Consumer Rights
FlowWells ships exclusively within the United States and acknowledges that consumer protection and health-related product laws vary by state. The following state-specific notices are provided for transparency. Nothing in this disclaimer limits any right you hold under applicable state law.
Under California's Sherman Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Law and Health & Safety Code, California consumers have strong protections against misleading health claims. The California Consumer Legal Remedies Act (CLRA) provides additional remedies for deceptive product representations. California residents may also have additional rights under Proposition 65 regarding chemical exposure disclosures.
New York General Business Law § 349 prohibits deceptive acts and practices in commerce, including misleading health or wellness product claims. New York consumers are entitled to remedies for any violation of this statute, including actual damages, injunctive relief, and attorney's fees in qualifying cases.
The Texas Deceptive Trade Practices–Consumer Protection Act (DTPA) prohibits false, misleading, or deceptive acts in connection with the marketing of consumer goods, including wellness products. Texas consumers who are materially misled about a product's health benefits may seek actual damages, up to three times actual damages if willful, and attorney's fees.
Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA, Fla. Stat. § 501.201) protects Florida consumers from unfair and deceptive acts in trade, including misleading wellness product claims. Florida consumers may pursue civil remedies for FDUTPA violations, including actual damages and attorney's fees.
As a Minnesota-based business, FlowWells is fully subject to the Minnesota Consumer Fraud Act (Minn. Stat. § 325F.68), the Unlawful Trade Practices Act (§ 325D.13), and the Minnesota Health Spa Act where applicable. Minnesota consumers may bring private actions under the Private Attorney General statute (§ 8.31). We take our obligations to Minnesota consumers with the seriousness they deserve.
All 50 states have consumer protection statutes that may provide additional rights with respect to wellness product claims. We encourage all customers to be informed of their state's consumer protection laws. Federal protections under the FTC Act, Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, and CPSA apply universally. Contact your state Attorney General's consumer protection division for state-specific questions.
Section 17
Limitation of Medical Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FlowWells, its owners, employees, agents, and service providers shall not be liable for any personal injury, bodily harm, aggravation of any pre-existing condition, or health-related loss arising from:
Nothing in this section limits or excludes liability that cannot be lawfully excluded under applicable law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or liability arising from our own fraudulent misrepresentation. In states where the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages is not permitted, this limitation applies to the maximum extent allowed by law.
Maximum Liability Cap: In no event shall FlowWells's total aggregate liability to you for any claim exceed the total amount you paid to FlowWells for the specific product that is the subject of the claim. See our full General Disclaimer for the complete limitation of liability terms.
Section 18
Reporting Adverse Events
If you experience any unexpected, negative, or harmful outcome while using or after using a FlowWells product — including burns, skin irritation, pain worsening, electrical issues, or any other adverse event — we ask that you:
Seek appropriate medical care first — your health and safety take priority over everything else. Call 911 for emergencies.
Contact FlowWells at support@flowwells.com with your order number, a description of what happened, and photographs if applicable. We respond within 1–2 business days and will take your report seriously.
Report to the CPSC at saferproducts.gov if the incident involves a product safety hazard. This reporting system helps protect all consumers nationwide.
We take every adverse event report seriously. Your feedback helps us maintain and improve the safety of our products for all customers. We investigate every reported incident thoroughly and transparently.
Section 19
Children & Vulnerable Populations
The FlowWells Full Body Massage Mat with Heat is designed and intended exclusively for adults aged 18 and older. It is not a toy and must be kept out of reach of children. The following specific protections apply to vulnerable populations:
Children must not use this device without direct adult supervision and physician clearance. Children's developing musculoskeletal systems and their limited ability to self-regulate heat and pressure tolerance make unsupervised use potentially unsafe. Keep all power cords and remote controls out of children's reach at all times.
Older adults may have reduced heat sensitivity, thinner skin, or underlying health conditions (such as osteoporosis or cardiovascular disease) that require medical clearance before use. Elderly users should begin at the lowest settings and limit session duration. A caregiver should be present for the first few sessions.
Individuals with dementia, intellectual disabilities, or any cognitive condition that limits their ability to self-monitor pain, discomfort, or heat should only use this device under the direct supervision of a caregiver and with physician clearance. These individuals may not be able to communicate distress in time to prevent injury.
Pregnant individuals should not use this device without explicit clearance from their obstetrician or midwife. Both vibration and heat applied to the abdominal, lumbar, or pelvic areas carry potential risks during pregnancy that must be evaluated on an individual basis by a qualified prenatal care provider.
