Payment Policy
Payment Policy —
Clear, Secure & Transparent
Every detail about how FlowWells accepts payments, processes charges, handles billing, and protects your financial information — written in plain language so you always know exactly where you stand.
We Accept 12 Payment Methods
FlowWells accepts a wide range of major credit cards, debit cards, and digital wallets so you can pay the way that works best for you. All methods below are processed through Shopify's secure, PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment infrastructure.
PCI-DSS Level 1
Shopify's infrastructure holds the highest level of PCI compliance. Your card data is never stored on our servers.
SSL Encrypted
Every page on flowwells.com uses 256-bit SSL encryption to protect all data transmitted between you and our store.
Fraud Prevention
Shopify's built-in fraud analysis and 3D Secure authentication protect both you and FlowWells from unauthorized transactions.
No Hidden Fees
The total you see at checkout — including tax — is exactly what you are charged. We never add surprise fees after your order is confirmed.
How Your Payment Works
From product page to order confirmation — here is the complete payment flow so you always know what to expect at each step.
Add to Cart
Browse flowwells.com and add your product to the cart. The listed price in USD is exactly what you will pay — no markup, no bait pricing.
Secure Checkout
Enter your shipping address. Sales tax is calculated and displayed transparently based on your state before you confirm. Select your preferred payment method.
Payment Authorized
Your payment is authorized through Shopify's encrypted, PCI-compliant gateway. Your card is charged only once — at the time of order placement.
Confirmation Sent
You receive an order confirmation email immediately after payment is processed, followed by a shipping notification with tracking details once your order ships.
Currency, Pricing & Billing Practices
All transactions on flowwells.com are conducted in United States Dollars (USD). We follow strict honest-pricing standards and are transparent about every charge.
All Prices in US Dollars (USD)
Every price displayed on flowwells.com — on product pages, in the cart, and at checkout — is stated in United States Dollars (USD). We do not display prices in foreign currencies, and we do not accept payments in foreign currencies.
If you are using a credit or debit card issued outside the United States, your card issuer will convert the USD charge to your local currency at the exchange rate and terms set by your bank. FlowWells has no control over foreign currency conversion fees charged by your bank or card issuer. We recommend checking with your issuer before placing your order.
Pricing Transparency — No Hidden Costs
The price shown on each product page is the actual price you pay for the product. FlowWells does not artificially inflate product prices to create false discounts. Any promotional pricing reflects a genuine, temporary reduction from our standard retail price.
Shipping is free on all domestic orders. There are no order processing fees, handling fees, packaging fees, or surcharges of any kind added to your order. The only additional amount that may appear at checkout beyond the product price is applicable state sales tax, which is calculated based on your delivery address and disclosed to you before you confirm your order.
When Your Card Is Charged
Your payment method is charged at the time you complete your order on flowwells.com — not when your order ships. This is standard practice for e-commerce stores operating on the Shopify platform.
You will receive an order confirmation email immediately after your payment is processed. This email serves as your receipt and includes your order number, a summary of items purchased, the total amount charged, and your billing and shipping information for your records.
How FlowWells Appears on Your Statement
When your payment is processed, the charge on your credit card or bank statement will appear as FLOWWELLS or a variation such as FLOWWELLS.COM, depending on your card issuer's formatting. If you do not recognize the charge or have any concerns, please contact us at support@flowwells.com before filing a dispute — we will resolve any billing questions promptly.
PayPal transactions will appear under PayPal's standard descriptor for merchant charges. Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay transactions will reflect the payment processor's standard billing name alongside the FlowWells merchant identity.
Sales Tax — State-by-State Rules
FlowWells collects and remits sales tax in compliance with applicable US state and local tax laws. Following the US Supreme Court ruling in South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc. (2018), online retailers are required to collect sales tax in states where they have economic nexus. Here is how this applies to your order.
Sales tax on your FlowWells order is calculated automatically at checkout based on your shipping address — specifically your state, county, and municipality. The tax amount is displayed clearly on the checkout page before you confirm your order, so you will always know your full total before committing to purchase.
Tax-Exempt Status: If you are a tax-exempt organization (such as a qualifying nonprofit, government entity, or educational institution) and wish to make a tax-exempt purchase, please contact us at support@flowwells.com before placing your order. We will require a copy of your exemption certificate to process the exemption correctly.
No Tax Surprises: FlowWells does not apply tax retroactively after an order is placed. The tax rate applied at checkout is final. We do not charge additional tax amounts after your order is confirmed.
California
Sales tax applies at the combined state + local rate for your delivery address. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) rights also apply to CA residents. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Texas
Sales tax applies at the applicable state and local combined rate for your Texas delivery address. Texas has one of the broader local tax structures in the US — rates vary by city and county.
Florida
Sales tax applies at Florida's state rate plus any applicable county surtax. The combined rate varies by county. Your rate is calculated automatically at checkout based on your Florida shipping address.
New York
Sales tax applies at New York's combined state and local rate. New York City has one of the highest combined rates in the US. The applicable rate for your specific address is applied automatically at checkout.
Washington
Washington applies destination-based sales tax. The rate is determined by your exact delivery address. Washington's combined rates vary significantly across counties and cities.
No Sales Tax States
Oregon, Montana, New Hampshire, Alaska, and Delaware have no state-level sales tax. Orders shipping to these states will show $0.00 tax at checkout (Alaska localities may vary).
Minnesota (Our Home State)
FlowWells is headquartered in Minnesota. Sales tax applies to Minnesota orders at the applicable state and local rate for your delivery address. Minnesota has a 6.875% base state rate plus local additions.
Illinois
Illinois applies origin-based sales tax for in-state sellers and destination-based for remote sellers. As a Minnesota-based store selling to Illinois customers, the applicable rate for your Illinois delivery address is applied at checkout.
Remaining 45 States + DC
Sales tax is collected in all states where FlowWells has established economic nexus under post-Wayfair rules. Your exact rate is calculated automatically at checkout based on your verified delivery address.
Payment Failures, Declines & Chargebacks
We want to make sure your payment goes through smoothly. Below is everything you need to know if your payment is declined, if you need to dispute a charge, or if a chargeback occurs.
Why Payments Are Declined
A payment failure at checkout does not mean FlowWells has blocked your order. Payment declines are issued by your card issuer or payment provider — not by us. Common reasons include:
- Incorrect card number, expiration date, or CVV entered at checkout
- Billing address does not match your card issuer's records
- Your card issuer has flagged the transaction as unusual based on your purchase history
- Your card has reached its credit limit or daily spending cap
- The card has been reported lost or frozen by your bank
- Your card does not support international or online transactions
If your payment is declined, please verify your billing details and try again, or use a different payment method. For persistent issues, contact your bank directly to authorize online transactions.
Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
We ask that you contact us before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer. Most payment concerns — including non-delivery, wrong items, or billing questions — can be resolved far more quickly by contacting FlowWells directly at support@flowwells.com or through our Contact Page.
If a chargeback is filed without first contacting FlowWells, we reserve the right to provide full order documentation — including proof of purchase, shipping confirmation, and tracking records — to your card issuer as part of the dispute resolution process. We maintain complete records for all transactions and shipments.
Chargebacks filed fraudulently for orders that were delivered as described may be disputed by FlowWells through the card network's dispute resolution process.
When a refund is approved under our Refund Policy, the refunded amount is returned to the original payment method used at checkout. We do not issue refunds as store credit, gift cards, or in any form other than a return to your original payment method, unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing.
Credit and Debit Cards: Approved refunds are processed within 10 business days of FlowWells approving your return. Once processed, your bank or card issuer typically posts the credit to your account within 3 to 10 additional business days, depending on their internal processing timelines. FlowWells does not control how quickly your bank posts the returned funds.
PayPal: Refunds to PayPal are processed within 10 business days of approval and typically appear in your PayPal balance within 3 to 5 business days thereafter.
Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay: Refunds for orders placed through these digital wallets are returned to the underlying payment method linked to that wallet (typically a credit or debit card). Processing timelines are the same as for direct card refunds.
If you do not see a refund after the timelines stated above, please contact us at support@flowwells.com and we will investigate with our payment processor on your behalf.
Subscriptions & Recurring Billing
At this time, FlowWells primarily sells through one-time purchase transactions. If subscription or recurring order options are ever offered, the terms governing those transactions are fully disclosed before any recurring billing begins.
If FlowWells offers a subscription or recurring order plan, the following terms will apply and will be clearly disclosed before you subscribe:
Billing Cycle: You will be informed of the exact billing frequency (weekly, monthly, or otherwise) and the amount that will be charged at each interval before you complete enrollment in any subscription.
Free Trial Periods: If a free trial is offered, you will be clearly informed of the trial end date, the amount that will be charged after the trial ends, and how to cancel before being charged. Charges will not begin until the disclosed trial period has ended.
Cancellation: You may cancel a subscription at any time before the next billing date to avoid future charges. Cancellation instructions will be provided in your subscription confirmation email. You can also cancel by contacting us at support@flowwells.com or through our Contact Page. Cancellation requests made before the next billing date will prevent the upcoming charge. We do not charge cancellation fees.
Modifications: If the price of a subscription plan changes, you will be notified by email at least 14 days before the new rate takes effect. You will have the opportunity to cancel before the new rate applies.
For complete details on any subscription offerings, see our Subscription Policy.
Order Modifications & Cancellations
We understand circumstances change. Here is what you can do after placing an order, and how changes affect the payment on file.
Modifying Your Order
If you need to modify your order — such as changing your shipping address or updating your contact information — please contact us at support@flowwells.com or through our Contact Page as soon as possible. We process orders within 1 to 3 business days, and modifications can only be made before your order enters the fulfillment stage.
We are unable to change the items in an order, the payment method used, or the billing address after payment is processed. If you ordered the wrong item, please allow the order to arrive and then initiate a return under our Refund Policy.
Cancelling Your Order
You may request a cancellation by contacting us at support@flowwells.com as soon as possible after placing your order. Cancellations are fulfilled at no charge when the request is received before your order enters fulfillment processing.
If your order has already been dispatched or handed to the carrier, it cannot be cancelled in transit. In that case, you may refuse delivery or initiate a return once the package arrives. The refund will be processed to your original payment method within 10 business days of our receiving the returned item in acceptable condition, as described in our Refund Policy.
